After 20 years working in IT a personal experience with stretch mark camoflauge changed the trajectory of my life and career asperations.
Born in Scotland, Victoria spent her early childhood in South Africa before immigrating to Australia at the age of ten. Her early years were active and full of energy, but her teenage years brought a more difficult chapter, where she developed an eating disorder and began a long, complex relationship with her body.
Throughout adulthood, her weight fluctuated, reflecting both the physical and emotional challenges she carried. A turning point came two years ago following complex spinal surgery. During recovery, Victoria made the decision to seek therapy and commit to meaningful, long-term lifestyle changes. What followed was a profound transformation—losing over 60 kilograms and rebuilding not only her health, but her sense of self.
That transformation, however, came with its own realities. Loose skin, stretch marks, and surgical scars remained—visible reminders of a past she had worked hard to move beyond. While procedures such as a tummy tuck and breast lift supported her physical recovery, the emotional relationship with her skin was more complex.
